FONLL
Program to calculate heavy quark transverse momentum and rapidity distributions in hadron-hadron and photon-hadron collisions, matching Fixed Order next-to-leading order terms and Next-to-Leading-Log large-pT resummation.
FONLL v1.3.3 is available since April 9, 2014.
It addresses a mismatch with a bug fix concerning the photon PDF AFG included in LHAPDF since v.5.8.5.
FONLL is compatible with gfortran since v1.3.2.
Phenomenological predictions of the FONLL formalism, including also convolution with non-perturbative
fragmentation into D and B mesons (not provided by this package) can be obtained
from this web page.
ChangeLog
Differences in 1.3 with respect to 1.2- Important improvement allowing for more reliable (and faster) calculation in the large rapidity regions.
- Added interface to LHAPDF
Differences in 1.2 with respect to 1.1
Some changes in numerical results, especially at large rapidity, as a result of a new treatment of the large-x region of the heavy quark perturbative fragmentation function. See Cacciari, Nason, Oleari, hep-ph/0510032 and the ChangeLog for details. With this version the non-perturbative parameters given in hep-ph/0510032 should be used.
Nuclear PDF's from the EKS package, which include shadowing effects, are also available in this version. Their implementation should be considered at the beta-test stage.
Links
To install, download the FONLL-1.3.3.tgz archive, unpack it and follow the instructions in INSTALL.
Version 1.2: you must download separately the PDF data files.
Download pdfdata.tgz and unpack it inside the main FONLL directory.
As of version 1.3 you can use LHAPDF: you won't then need this file.
